The correct Horse Riding Posture can be trained and can be supported by the use of a brace. Every movement we perform is a posture. Posture requires micro muscle movements continuously. The Horse riding posture is much more work than riders actually acknowledge. A quality shoulder brace is an extremely useful piece of horse riding equipment that can help you with your posture. The posture adjustments are happening all the time. This is so much harder than we think and very fatiguing on the posture muscles.
A good rider must have good posture out of the saddle before even thinking of a good horse riding posture in the saddle. A strong straight back, square shoulders, upright head position and flexibility through the lower back and pelvis is a must. The endurance to maintain a good upright posture in the saddle requires training.
Horses riders just like an athlete can improve their riding by using support braces.
The use of a Posture shoulder brace will assist the rider enormously. A posture shoulder brace will keep the shoulders square and back. It will also help the upper back stay in a more upright position. The brace will help the muscles from fatiguing and therefore reduce pain as well. When fitted properly a Posture Shoulder brace can improve the riders’ position and train their muscles at the same time.
Riders develop habits such as poking chin, bent wrists, head bobbing, moving lower leg, bouncing in the saddle. These can be prevented by using a Posture Shoulder brace.
Lower back pain is the most common complaint for riders. This comes from a weakness, a stiffness and riding. The care of a horse requires repetitive loading on the back as well. It is a well known fact the use of a lower back brace supports the back. Again using a back brace when riding or lifting feed and gear is certainly good management. A lower back brace supports the spinal joints and the abdominal muscles. It will absorb the impact of the jarring when riding and support the joints when lifting.
It will protect the back and help reduce pain.
I use these braces myself but I certainly spend time keeping my body flexible and strong.
For a total well being exercise program to improve your riding as well as protect your body use the braces but follow my Applied Posture Riding program as well.
